Mission
The UIUC Illni Algae Project was founded in 2008 to promote and advance algal-based technologies that address current environmental, agricultural, and energy concerns. These concerns include greenhouse gas sequestration from conventional power plant sources, wastewater nutrient removal and contaminant treatment, waterbody mitigation through bloom harvesting, alternative feedstock production for animal consumption, and biofuel production through lipid extraction and pyrolisis procedures. To learn more about our activities please visit our Projects and Focal Point sites hosted on the left navigation bar.
