Professor Jeremy Guest is a faculty member in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering here at the University of Illinois. His past education and professional experiences include:
Professor Guests's research interests are in the development of biotechnologies and decision-making tools that enable the design of more sustainable environmental infrastructure. His work spans from basic research in applied microbiology to the design of integrated infrastructure networks, with applications in both technologically advanced and developing countries. Studies include experimentation and modeling with microalgae and photosynthetic bacteria to improve our understanding of physiological stress responses for the design of bioprocesses for energy feedstock (for biodiesel, bioethanol, and methane), high-value product enrichment, and wastewater treatment.
